Signs That Your Tile Roof Needs To Be Repaired

Even though tile roofs are strong, there may come a point when they need to be repaired. To help you know what signs to look for, you will want to keep reading.

Small Breaks Are Appearing

While a small break in a tile or two might not seem like a very big deal, but those small breaks are usually some of the first signs that there are going to be whole tiles starting to come loose completely. Unless there was a direct, blunt force against your tiles, such as someone being up there dropping heavy tools on the tiles, it is happening because the tiles are old and wearing out.

The Roofline Is Sagging

Your roofline should be straight, and it should not be sagging. Therefore, if you take a step back from your home and look up at your roof, you should see that it is straight. If you happen to notice that it is sagging in any spot, you will know that it is time to call a roofing professional who has experience with tile roofs.

You will most likely discover that some bad tiles were allowing water to get beneath them and the wood was then absorbing that water beneath the tiles. The only way for your roofing contractor to fix that is to remove all of the roofing materials and replace that entire section. Have this done quickly before the problem continues to grow and gets out of hand. Before you know it, it could go from one small spot needing to be replaced to your entire roof needing replaced.

There Are Small Cracks

You do not want to make the mistake of assuming that just because your tile roof is still intact that it is fine. If you notice that there are small cracks in the tiles, you will need to have those particular tiles replaced. You will then want the roofer to look over all of the other tiles to examine their durability. If you are having trouble noticing whether or not there are cracks, you will want to grab a pair of binoculars or even your smartphone camera and zoom in so you can see things better.

Should you notice any of those signs, you will want to make sure that you are getting in touch with your roofing contractor as soon as possible. The longer you wait, the more likely it is that you are going to notice that more problems are arising. The more problems there are with your roof, the more money it will take to get all of it repaired.
